Understanding Ayurveda

Ayur means 'longevity' and Veda means 'knowledge' or 'science'.
So, when you're drinking Ayurvedic teas, you're consuming the source of longevity empowered by science.

Ayurvedic tea contributes a lot to the drinker's health. It enriches your well-being so much it'd be a waste if you don't sip it.

Here's a rundown on the philosophical concept behind Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian healing system that has been around for the last 5,000 years. Its core philosophy is deeply stemmed in the concept that the mind and body is a single entity and sicknesses occur due to a failure in leveraging all 3 energies or otherwise known as Doshas : Kapha, Vata and Pitta. Dosha means, 'the science of life'.

In a nutshell, Ayurvedic tea balances the digestive system by balancing the pH and stimulating the digestive and lymphatic system.

What does each Ayurvedic Tea actually do for you?
Check out the illustration below.

As you can see, each
Dosha plays a significant role in our overall health and general well-being.

Kapha ensures your respiratory system is in order.
Pitta ensures your organs function without breaking down.
Vata protects the condition of both your small and large intestines.

Feel The Passion

All this while I've been blogging on and on about tea. What can I say? I simply love tea.
So, for a switch I've decided to blog about something entirely different.
No, it's not coffee if that's what you are thinking of.
It's a sex pill.....for WOMEN!

Don't you just love the packaging design?
Pink and pills falling from the heavens.
Artistic for most of us but could be literal for addicts! Just kidding!

I must admit the color itself is an attractive factor.
None of those raunchy, sexual images found on most sex enhancement pills. Plain, simple pink with a pair of 'S' given a somehow sensual stroke to reflect what the product is all about.
Call me old school, backwards or whatever. I believe us women are a lotus and we are meant to be sensual and soft.

Okay enough with behavioral science 101.
Back to Passione.
So, Passione restores the passion is women who have lost their sexual drive.
Contributing factors could be menopause, imbalance hormones, stress, depression or simply worn out from work. Like men, women too have sexual needs and if your man's up for some love-making and you're in the blues, it's a really tragedy.
I've known women who admit they have been sex-free for a very long time. And when I try to elicit from them the reason behind their 'abstinence', they shut me out and say it's probably stress.
Who doesn't experience stress?
Even babies do.

I've yet to master what Passione actually does (yeah it's a sex pill I get that) but what does it actually do for us women i terms of health and sexual well being? Let me dig up more on this product like its ingredients and functions. 'Till my next post. For the mean time, take care and stay safe.

Lotus Green Tea

"Lotus Green Tea? Hmm..."
I am an avid of green tea, no doubt in that but to have the lotus flavor added into the equation...it's something rather unique and I had to try!
The moment I got back home, I dropped my duffle bag to the floor and got on with the brewing.
Didn't take much to prepare a decent cup of this tea; well, just like any other tea for that matter.
I could already smell the floral sweetness of aromatic lotus blossoms drifting dreamily in the air. (Well it had to be the Lotus scent infiltrating my nostrils as I am well acquainted with the scent of green tea and the scent creeping up my nostrils was definitely not brewing green tea!)

I stole a sip and it was as though every problem I had at that moment had disappeared into thin air.
I felt a lot calmer, relaxed and found myself sealed up in this figurative bubble where nothing could harm my state of tranquility. I know I can get carried away at times but seriously guys, this is how I precisely felt from taking only a sip.

So you could imagine the state of emotional harmony I was in after dry cleaning the entire cup!

I didn't know much of this lotus tea so I googled to educate myself.
So, apparently Lotus tea originates from an aquatic plant that grows in India and other countries in South and Southeast Asia. It's biggest benefit is the feeling of relaxation after consuming it, which is an important emotional piece of tranquility in Hindu and Buddhist literature. Lotus also helps with digestive problems and applied as a sedative. It helps insomniac people to sleep.
Women particularly can benefit from this tea as it aids in reducing heavy flows during menstruation.

So, in bullet points, what are the benefits of drinking Lotus Green Tea?

  • Relaxes you after a long day at the office
  • Aids with digestive issues
  • Helps you to sleep (reminds me of Lavender)
  • Won't be a gushing river for women during menstruation

Ranawara Ayurvedic Tea

I had recently purchased this Ayurvedic Tea. It's not my first time drinking this tea. I had my first Ranawara Ayurvedic Tea when I was on vacation in Sri Lanka, which by the way has been used throughout generations there. The locals believe in its medicinal values.

Here are the medicinal benefits from drinking Ranawara Ayurvedic Tea:

  1. It gives you a clearer complexion
  2. It enhances you sexually in terms of increase in sperm count and helps those with ejaculatory disorders
  3. Treats diabetes, urinary disorders and aids in stomach cleansing
  4. Restores glow to your skin
  5. Helps women suffering from menstrual discomfort
In Africa, Ranawara has been used to treat eye irritations, body pain and venereal disease.

Ayurvedic Tea

Another class of tea is Ayurvedic tea.

Ayurveda, in Sanskrit means 'Knowledge of Life'. It is philosophically believed that in Ayurvedic practice, there has to be balance in a human's life through the implementation of natural resources such as plants, herbs, fruits and spices.

Every function in life is controlled by 3 forms of energies respectively known as dosha kapha, dosha vata and dosha pitta.

What does each energy actually do?

Ayurvada kapha has influence on a person's endurance, strength and self-healing. It's spicy and relieves congestion.
Ayurvada vata dosha is efficient for dry skin and poor circulation. It's toasty and a has sweet citrus taste.
Ayurvada pitta dosha balances metabolic energy, at the same time regulates digestion and increases appetite. It has a cooling effect and is refreshing.

Ayurvedic tea boosts energy levels. The fact it is 100% caffeine free, the energy boost you'll receive from drinking Ayurvedic tea is natural.

Ayurvedic Tea kicks up your metabolism, which leads on to fat burning and weight loss.

Since Ayurvedic Tea helps to sharpen the memory for excellent retention, there is really no need for unnecessary reminders like reminding you you've run out of ice cream!

The Fuss About Green Tea

Walk into any pharmacy and you'll bound to see shelves of green tea products of various brands.
You might have heard of the benefits associated with consuming green tea.
Helps to lose weight perhaps? Good for general well being?

I, myself personally enjoy tea and green tea happens to be my favorite especially when I'm drained after a long day in the office.

I've put together a concise, brief explanation on the many wonderful health advantages green  tea has to offer.

  1. Green Tea is a fat buster! It contains an active component, EGCG that boosts fat burning rate.
  2. Green Tea burns belly fat. EGCG activates fat-burning genes in the abdomen to speed weight loss by 77%.
  3. Green Tea has the potential to combat against lung cancer. EGCG could potentially suppress lung cancer cell growth.
  4. Green tea maintains energy level by balancing blood sugar levels. EGCG improves insulin usage to avoid blood sugar spikes that can cause fatigue, aggravation and desires for unhealthy food.
  5. Green Tea can potentially prevent skin damage and wrinkle formation. Compared to Vitamin E, EGCG's potential to destroy skin-damaging free radicals is magnified 200 times.
For me, what makes green tea amazing is its amazing taste and calming effect it has on the body and mind.
I don't know about you but I'm going to make myself a cup of green tea.
